Netanyahu urges Britain and France not to ease sanctions on Iran.

By Vanilla (Tang Min)

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister, has called Britain and France's leaders to urge them not to ease sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program, ahead of talks between Iran and world powers.

On Saturday Netanyahu phoned British Prime Minister David Cameron and French President Francois Hollande to tell them sanctions were close to achieving their goal."Until Iran dismantles its military nuclear program, sanctions must not be eased - on the contrary. Only the pressure brought Iran to this point, and only the continuation of pressure and its strengthening can bring them to dismantle their nuclear program," Netanyahu was quoted as saying.

The Israeli leader met U.S. President Barack Obama last week in Washington and made a speech at the U.N. General Assembly in which he said Israel was ready to stand alone to deny Iran nuclear weapons.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says his country's nuclear program is for peaceful civilian purposes and since his June election victory has been trying to ease friction with the West in an attempt to win relief from international sanctions.

Western diplomats have played down any suggestion Iran's new openness will result in an immediate loosening of sanctions. But they are also hoping that talks on October 15-16 between six world powers - including Britain and France - and Iran will deliver an opportunity to make progress on ending the decade-long dispute.

Why do the rest world involve into the conflict between these two areas? I think that they should solve this problem by themselves.Hope that talks will be useful to this matter.

I think it's normal to have involvement of the world in this local conflict.
First, Israel has big influence in the West, so it's usefull for them to have American and European support.
Second, several countries in this place are unfriendly with Israel and are with Iran so they are also undirectly involved.

    Hi Vanilla,
    Thanks for sharing!
The relationship between Iran and Israel are vey complicated du to their history, culture and geography politics.
Israel cannot tolerate the nuclear test of Iran. So there are more tensions between them now.

The nuclear has always been a matter among the countries. Should a country keep a nuclear to have power and stay in peace or not?
I don't know much about the history between Israel and Iran, however, I can not say that sanction on Iran for the nuclear program is always right.
