Whereas, Haiti had been colonially governed by nearly three hundred years

Whereas, all indigenous people, Tainos, were killed as a result of keeping their homeland

Whereas, the territory had suffered from disease, small pox and typhoid as a result of Columbus’ arrival

Whereas, Haiti people are looking forward to a better future and to develop its economy

Whereas, Haiti lost a lot in natural disasters

Whereas, American government extracted 40% Haiti’s GDP to its economic development

Whereas, Haiti needs subventions to reconstruct its destroyed building an reinvigorate its somnolent economy

Whereas, the poverty of Haiti is the consequence of Gunboat diplomacy according to which it had been unfairly treated.

Now, therefore, be it resolved,

The US has to stop interfering Haiti national affairs

The US accounts for building schools, hospitals and factories in Haiti

Whereas, the United States spends 54% federal budget on overseas military bases and pays 600 billion dollars on military affairs.

   

Whereas, the United States has set up more than 865 overseas military bases to maintain its superpower.

   

Whereas, the United States is not the king of the world who can rule the whole world.

  

Whereas, there are so many homeless American starving on the streets and jobless people are struggling for their future.

Whereas, there are so many soldiers longing to embrace their families and ending up counting the lonely days abroad.

Now, therefore ,be it resolved, that by this resolution calls for cutting half the military budget for the sake of healthcare, charity, education and let those homesick American back their homes.

Resolution for Action on US Military Bases overseas

WHEREAS, On January 26,2006, the 212th Legislature of the State of California introduced Assembly Bill 2067; and

WHEREAS, this bill calls for the "U.S. Military Bases Reduction Act" to be amended to reduce the number of military bases overseas; and

WHEREAS, the United States spend 54% of federal budget for military bases, which is the highest percentage comparing to the other countries; and

WHEREAS, the United States' military expense takes up 41% of global expense in military; and

WHEREAS, income tax should be used more on healthcare and education.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that by this resolution the city/borough Council of _________
joins with the sponsors of Assembly Bill 2067 and calls for the reduction of military bases overseas to 20% of federal budget.

Resolution for Compensation for Haiti's Suffering

Whereas, on December 14, 2001, the 119th Legislature of the state of California
Introduced Assembly Bill 1307; and

Whereas, this bill calls for the "Haiti Compensation Act" to be amended to
Stop the oppression towards Haiti; and

Whereas, this amendment is perfected on a study that the aforementioned population had been slave nation  between 1697 and 1804, the in-dependency year; and

Whereas, Haiti was forced to pay 150 million francs through gunboat diplomacy; and

Whereas, Haiti paid 40% of GDP to the U.S. government until 1941 in terms of the military occupations; and

Whereas, the earthquake in 2010 in Haiti, the damage and dangers of natural disasters in which Haiti is threatened.

Now, Therefore, Be it resolved, that by this resolution the city/borough council of LA joins with the sponsors of assembly bill 1307 and calls for the reduction to 20% of reparations and providing hosts in terms of architectural repairs.

Resolution 1: U.S. Military Bases

WHERAS, It costs a lot of money that should be spent on developing the U.S. because the U.S spends 682 billion dollars on military, which is equivalent to the total amount of military budget that includes China, Russia, UK, Japan, France, Saudi Arabia, India, Germany, Italy and Brazil.

WHERAS, Huge number of families are suffering from the absence of their parents.

WHERAS, Military bases are supporting the dictator regimes in some of the host countries.

WHERAS, Military bases causes huge tension between some countries.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That by this Resolution we call for reducing the number of U.S. military bases overseas.

First McDonald's opens in Soviet Union

The Soviet Union's first McDonald's fast food restaurant opens in Moscow. Throngs of people line up to pay the equivalent of several days' wages for Big Macs, shakes, and french fries.
The appearance of this notorious symbol of capitalism and the enthusiastic reception it received from the Russian people were signs that times were changing in the Soviet Union. An American journalist on the scene reported the customers seemed most amazed at the "simple sight of polite shop workers...in this nation of commercial boorishness." A Soviet journalist had a more practical opinion, stating that the restaurant was "the expression of America's rationalism and pragmatism toward food." He also noted that the "contrast with our own unrealized pretensions is both sad and challenging."
For the average Russian customer, however, visiting the restaurant was less a political statement than an opportunity to enjoy a small pleasure in a country still reeling from disastrous economic problems and internal political turmoil.
The arrival of McDonald's in Moscow was a small but certain sign that change was on the horizon. In fact, less than two years later, the Soviet Union ceased to exist as a nation, Mikhail Gorbachev resigned as leader of the country, and various Soviet republics proclaimed their independence. As the American newsman reported, the first Russian McDonald's customers "had seen the future, and it works, at least as far as their digestive tract."

Netanyahu urges Britain and France not to ease sanctions on Iran.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister, has called Britain and France's leaders to urge them not to ease sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program, ahead of talks between Iran and world powers.

On Saturday Netanyahu phoned British Prime Minister David Cameron and French President Francois Hollande to tell them sanctions were close to achieving their goal."Until Iran dismantles its military nuclear program, sanctions must not be eased - on the contrary. Only the pressure brought Iran to this point, and only the continuation of pressure and its strengthening can bring them to dismantle their nuclear program," Netanyahu was quoted as saying.

The Israeli leader met U.S. President Barack Obama last week in Washington and made a speech at the U.N. General Assembly in which he said Israel was ready to stand alone to deny Iran nuclear weapons.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says his country's nuclear program is for peaceful civilian purposes and since his June election victory has been trying to ease friction with the West in an attempt to win relief from international sanctions.

Western diplomats have played down any suggestion Iran's new openness will result in an immediate loosening of sanctions.But they are also hoping that talks on October 15-16 between six world powers - including Britain and France - and Iran will deliver an opportunity to make progress on ending the decade-long dispute.

Why do the rest world involve into the conflict between these two areas? I think that they should solve this problem by themselves.Hope that talks will be useful to this matter.
