Since Edward Snowden, former CIA employee and NSA contractor in the U.S,publicly announced the top secret "Surveillance programmes" of United States and British government, this shocking news have been concerned by the world.Recently,a large number of protesters have marched to protest against the US government's behaviors in Washington.
The Protesters'aim is to urge Congress to reform the legal framework supporting the National Security Agency's secretive online data gathering.People took signs such as: "Stop Mass Spying," "Thank you, Edward Snowden" and "Unplug Big Brother" to demonstrate against the online surveillance. The event was organised by a coalition known as "Stop Watching Us" that consists of about 100 public advocacy groups and companies, including the American Civil Liberties Union, privacy group Electronic Frontier Foundation, Occupy Wall Street NYC and the Libertarian Party.
It is said that the U.S has tapped the information of Merkel's mobile phone for more than 10 years.Such behavior certainly caused great concern in Germany so that German spy chiefs plan to intervene this serious issue to demand the answers from the U.S.
When mentioned spying ,it is said that it's a war without smoke of gunpowder.Every country should respect others no matter the country is poor or rich.I think that spying is also a behavior to undermine the international relations and causes the crisis of confidence from other countries.I hope that government will consider the advice and insight of citizens.

ReplyDeleteHey Vanilla, thanks for sharing.
Edward Snowden became famous all around the world due to the scandal in 2013. Spying among countries has been existing for a log time from ancient ages and It is hard to stop it suddenly. I think eavesdropping on citizens is a terrible idea from government, Because it is violating people's privacy. What's worse, it will create distrust between government and its people.

ReplyDeleteAs you mention, I also think each country should respect other countries, and we shouldn't only think about our own countries' benefit.

ReplyDeletepersonally, I love living in a country where I can vote for a party, where I can drive a car, I can blog on this website freely, I can practice my faith in a church where I won't be stoned once I step outside, I can even tell my friends that I go to a church..my faith doesn't make me unprivileged in health care, education and employment, and I can marry someone who is of different race, tribe and religion!
